Humans are the youngest children of the Makers, born into the mortal world in an age of strife and conflict between the greater cosmic powers seeking to take dominion over it. Destined by their creators to help the elder races oppose the power of the Corruptors, they were the first to fall before them, as even the very process of their creation was defiled by the dark influence. Short-lived, incapable of magic and susceptible to deformities, the Humans were an easy prey. Manipulated to believe that they were created inferior to other races on purpose, most of them abandoned the Makers and turned to the Corruptors, who bestowed eldritch gifts upon the chiefs of human tribes and the most loyal of their worshippers. The faithful were captured and tortured to the death, unless they renounced their creators. The unconverted tribes were scattered and fell one by one. Almost the entire human race was turned into a tool in the hands of those who they were made to oppose.

 

It is in this time of the greatest need that the Elenthai, the divine messengers of the Makers that became known to the Humans as the Angels, shared their blood with the faithful and cleansed them of the taints that plagued them. The First Generation of Mages was born and under their leadership the faithful started to take back their lands and positions from the cultists of the Corruptors, eventually crushing and exiling them from the civilized world. The human race ushered in a golden age that didn't last long. As generations passed, their rulers began to struggle over power and the unified human dominion crumbled into small kingdoms that wallowed in feuds. The blessed blood of the faithful mixed with the tainted blood of the outcasts. The exiled cults returned and secretly started spreading their influence again. And now, the future of Humans is uncertain, as even the smallest thing can tip the balance and change the flow of their history and the history of the entire world with them.
